Understand the Different Parts of A Centrifugal Pump

by Sweta Shah HR Executive in Ambica Machine Tools
There are numerous critical components in a pump that allow it to work adequately and dependably. Become more acquainted with the distinctive pump parts and their significance to your activities' general exhibition and productivity.

Parts of Centrifugal Pump

Casing: This is a shell, a cover of the housing that protects and supports the other components. In pumps, the crucial component is a casing that prevents leakage and retains pressure referring to a snail shell. There are two types of pump casings and diffusers. Although there are different varieties, both can take energy and convert to pressure.

Diffusers: Diffusers have multiple vanes and are positioned to open and close the outer edge of the impeller. An impeller is the rotating component of the centrifugal pump equipped with vanes and blades to move the fluid within the pump. The centrifugal pump manufacturer in India designs such pumps to convert the energy that derives from a source.

Volutes: The centrifuge manufacturer in India designs this to capture the liquid's velocity and enter the impeller's diameter.

There are two types of impellers- axial flow impeller and radial flow impeller. The axial flow moves axially to the shaft and uses high-flow to low–flow applications. While in the radial flow, the fluid moves perpendicularly to the shaft and uses a multi-stage split case.

Impellers are also classified based on the suction type, single or double. A single-suction impeller enters from one direction, and double suction impeller, the liquid enters the center of the blades and two sides.

Seals: Gland Packing and mechanical seal act as a method of fluid within the pump. They are installed within the seal area. The gland packing is a rope-like material cur into rings to wrap and allows a rotating shaft to ensure the wet area without letting the fluid escape.

Gasket: gaskets are sealing elements where sealing is required in the connected parts and does not perform relatively.

O-Ring: This is a seal that closes a gap between the two surfaces so that neither liquid nor any gas can pass through any direction. It changes the shape when pressure is applied to the pump.
