New York City gets all the hype it deserves. And, holds a place in the bucket list of almost everyone. The vibe of New York City is such and we cannot blame it. Just a look at the city is enough to cast a spell on you. This mix of urban and old school is incomparable. It has its mind set firmly towards the fast moving future but its heart still reminisces the tunes of opera.

The charm of New York City can be credited to the diversity of its neighborhoods. Stand facing any direction from the center of the city and just a few blocks away you’d see a neighborhood brimming in its ecstatic mélange of cultures. And, each one is worth exploring. Sadly, many people restrict their exploration to the famed neighborhoods, leaving behind the lesser known ones. And, that’s the mistake they commit. That is something you shouldn’t do. So, the next time you book a cheap flight to New York, make sure you explore these amazing underrated neighborhoods.

The Financial District

Sitting at the southernmost tip of Manhattan, The Financial District is where you are away from the hustle and bustle of Midtown Manhattan. But, The Financial District can be a little crowded because of the all business and trade that takes place at this neighborhood during the day. However, as night takes charge, a certain sense of eeriness envelopes the area. And, a stroll in the night shall calm you down with its pleasant quietude. Hop on a last minute flight to New York City and have an amazing time.

SoHo

With many high end stores making their way to SoHo, this neighborhood is a shopper’s paradise. And, when shopping takes hold in a place, food has to follow. Thus, many restaurants serving global fares that are extremely delish is a foodie’s rescue in SoHo. This doesn’t mean that SoHo is cluttered. It has its own charm with cast-iron buildings dotting the area. The neighborhood shares a close proximity to Chinatown where you can head over from here at ease to delve in to Chinese culture.

The Greenwich Village

This neighborhood is known amongst New Yorkers as simply “The Village.” Enclosed on all sides by iconic spots like Hudson Street on the south, the Hudson River on the west, Broadway on the east and 14th Street on the north, The Greenwich Village is an amazing place. But, that’s not all. At its center lies the gorgeous Washington Square Park. The neighborhood is rooted in the Bohemian culture and has put forth its much needed effort and support for the LGBTQ rights. The dining scene in this area is worth raving about too. You can just head to any restaurant and café and treat your palate to lip smacking food and beverages. Book a cheap plane ticket to the Big Apple and have a relaxed time.

Chelsea

Chelsea is where you witness the best of Manhattan’s contemporary art. It’s a perfect space for people who want to share a closeness to all the action but not be too close to be always a part of it. Chelsea is progressive in its character and has a large number of gay people living in harmoniously at this neighborhood. The nightlife is just the right amount of fun sans the wild crazy. It’s where you can unwind at the bar and club after a long day of exploring.

So, the next time you think you’ve seen all of New York City and head over to book a cheap flight to Philadelphia for the further part of your vacation, stick around a little longer and explore these New York City’s most underappreciated neighborhoods.
