Ekamra Kanan:

Lingaraj Temple:

Lingaraja Temple is a Hindu shrine devoted to Shiva and is one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar. Dedicated to Lord Shiva the shrine was built in the 7th century by the King Jajati Keshari. It’s a place not just for the religious minded people but also for those interested in architecture. The main temple area is crowded mostly but there’s lot of open space around where you can sit & appreciate the architecture. Most importantly the temple is located just 1.8 kilometers from the airport, so you consider a car hire in Bhuabneswar to get here and get back to the airport before your layover time is finished.

Museum of Tribal Arts & Artifacts:

Located just 4.5 kilometers from the airport, Museum of Tribal Arts & Artifacts is one of the best tribal museums in India & also one of the most popular places to visit in Bhubaneswar. The museum is categorized into 5 individual halls, each representing an aspect from the lifestyle of the local tribes. Currently it houses about 2,247 artifacts and all of them are worth exploring. There’re dresses and ornaments, dokra items, musical instruments, hunting implements, fishing nets, agriculture tools, household objects, personal belongings, tribal art, and much more to explore.

Ram Mandir:

Located in the heart of Bhubaneswar just 3.5 kilomters from the airport, Ram Mandir is a temple housing beautiful images of Lord Rama, Lord Lakshman, and Goddess Sita. It’s one of the most renowned shrines for the devotees of Lord Rama and also one of the highly acknowledged pilgrimage places to visit in Bhubaneswar City. The garden in front of the temple is well-maintained and one can spend the whole evening with evening aarti with great peace of mind and spiritual feeling. Some of the major festivals celebrated here are Ram Navami, Vivaha Panchami, Janmashtami, Dussehra, Shivaratri, and Pana Sankranti.

Dhauligiri Shanti Stupa:

Also known as the Peace Pagda, Shanti Stupa of Dhauligiri is a must visit if you are in Bhubaneswar. Here, you will see the proclamation of Lord Budddha which is visited by numerous Buddhist devotees.
