be as common as other health problems but several of them have been known for
affecting a significant number of people. Following is a brief overview of top
five sexually transmitted diseases along with symptoms:

Syphilis- Usually known as bad blood, syph, and pox; syphilis tops the list of
most common STDs. It gets transferred when a subject comes in direct contact
with a sore or wound. The primary reason for this disease is a bacteria called
spirochetes that enters a subject's body during sexual intercourse. It passes
to other internal organs through blood after entering the body. The incubation
period of syphilis varies from 10 days - 09 days. The initial symptoms of this
disease are painless sores, hair loss, sore throat, and a few others.

Gonorrhea - Nicknamed as Clap, GC, and Drip, gonorrhea is transmitted through
direct contact between infected mucuous membranes. Organs that play primary
role in this process are anus, mouth, genitals, and all other such organs that
have mucuos membranes. Genorrhea mainly infects urethra in men because of which
they experience constant inflammation, painful discharge of urine, and pus
formation. Women, on the contrary, might experience vaginal discharge and
constant irritation.

Venereal Warts - Venereal warts or condylomata acuminate is a viral disease that causes
cauliflower shaped red colored scars and sores. They usually appear near rectum
or vagina and grow at a fast pace whenever they come in contact with any kind
of vaginal discharge. In males, these sores appear near rectal area and penis.

Pubic Lice - Also known as crab lice these are always transmitted through sexual
interactions. Pubic lice are gray and yellow in color and are always found
attached with pubic hair. Presence of these lice causes consistent itching and
irritation due to bites of these parasites. It is very important to cure both
partners to prevent re-infestation of this disease. These parasites feed on
blood of their subject the sores of which causes intense burning and itching to
the subject.
· HIV/AIDS - The most famous STD, it is the longest known disease with respect to sexual health. There are several modes of transmission of this disease but the most common ones are sexual intercourse and blood of infected person. Pregnant ladies suffering with HIV or AIDS also transfer this disease to their kids. Last but not the least, HIV/AIDS can also be transmitted through infected syringes. Basic symptoms of this disease are malaise, fever, weight loss, tuberculosis, diarrhea, and skin cancer. In short, the patient loses its immunity against all kind of diseases and might succumb to even the most mild and small health problems.
