Tips to Getting Rid of Insects in a Natural Way

by Shawn Conner Writer

Dealing with pests in your home is never an easy task. Many people though want to find a more natural solution before going with a pest company. While a professional pest control company has many benefits, it can be good to know how to deal with the issue on your own before having to contact them. By knowing how to handle the most common pests you will have a greater understanding.

Flies can be taken care of when you use a natural made fly trap. To do this, combine a 50/50 solution of apple cider vinegar and liquid dish soap of any brand into a small disposable cup. Set the cup out, near a trashcan and the flies will be attracted to it, but won’t be able to get out. It is a really inexpensive fix, though you will want to keep it out of the reach of children and change it out at least once a week.

Another issue you may need help with is ants, for which you will need a 50/50 solution of water and vinegar. You simply spray this solution on any area that you have seen the ants to help get rid of them. The smell from the mixture works as a repellant. The vinegar also works by getting rid of their tracks so they will not be able to find their way back to the food in your home.

The biggest problem homeowners face in their backyard is mosquitoes and marigolds may be just the answer you are looking for. The smell these flowers release will keep mosquitoes as well as many other flying insects out of your yard. The only thing to keep in mind is that you will need to have the entire outer edge covered to make this effective. You will also need to make sure you keep them alive, which for some may seem an impossible task.
