Importance of Laboratory Equipments:

Every lab owner wants to make his/ her lab look modern and ergonomically designed according to an individual needs with every equipment and facilities available at one place, be it a chemical lab or a crime lab or a testing lab. But, apart from its modernization and uptodate facilities, while designing the lab one should not forget basic needs and safety of the individual using the lab equipments. As far as chemical labs are concerned, apart from the safety of individual, proper placement of the hazardous chemicals and toxic gases is also necessary so that it does not harm any of the individuals. Below mentioned are the three basic needs of a chemical lab to make it a most safe for individual and comfortable to work upon.

Laboratory Furniture – Backbone of Any Chemical Lab

The first and foremost need of a lab is to have proper laboratory furniture. While the look and design of lab furniture such as lab tables and lab benches is important to make it modern, but it should not be the only criteria while choosing the furniture for your lab. The furniture chosen should be made of such material that it does not get damaged by any of the chemicals used in the laboratory. They should be chemical-resistant and should remain rust-free for long time. For example Trespa and epoxy resin can be used in making the lab furniture as they remain corrosion free for longer amount of time. Also the lab tables used should be hygienic enough to resist heat, moisture, impact, wear and solvents.

Fume Hood – For Zero Compromise On Safety

In a chemical laboratory, fumes are bound to come out from the chemicals so it is necessary that these fumes does not harm any individuals and they get the clean and fresh air continuously. This is where fume hood plays an important part. Fume hoods are the partially enclosed ventilated workspace that continuously exhasut the harmful vapors and fumes out of the lab. This consumes a very less area in the lab to give a fume-less and vapor-less environment. Now, these fume hoods should also be made of the material that is corrosion free and hence cannot be used for longer period of time. Also they should be serviced at regular intervals to ensure that they doesn't gets blocked up otherwise the harmful fumes and vapors doesn't affect any of the individuals.

Work station – Must Need for any Lab

The last and the most important part of any lab without which there is no meaning of a lab is the work station. Simply having a work station doesn't mean that your lab is perfect. Without its placement and the material used to make it, even installing  the best quality workstation in your laboratory could backfire. The lab workstations should be preferably made of epoxy resin as it is safest material to have in a workstation. It is not only heat and chemical resistant but is also very cost effective. But this is the most unliked material by the lab owner because of its green color but nowadays it is also available in the customized colors like blue, red, tan and others.

Lab Equipment – Why They are Required

These are the three basic equipments of any lab and every lab owner should ensure to have these three in their labs with proper material, placement and quantity to make your lab look the best not only according to facility and latest equipments but also according to the safety and comfort of the individuals using it.
