Things You Should Do to Make a Memorable Trip to Tbilisi, Georgia

When you look at the beautiful city of Tbilisi, Georgia located on the bank of the river Kura you will realize the real significance of this region. Your instant gaze will fall on the several attractions on the city such as the Modern Bridge of Speech flows through the Kura or the remotely looking sky high Holy Trinity Cathedral.  You will also see the spectacular cable railways coming from the mountains located in the old town and the busy movement of the tourists. 

Georgia is at an intersection of Europe and Asia that making a famous trading city.  Due to its diverse historic ethnicity, Tbilisi has a multicultural identity. Roam Around the Old Town 

You can walk around in the streets of Tbilisi and explore the different architectural styles; the city incorporates such as medieval, neoclassical and modern. You will spot several Orthodox churches, past day's buildings with cozy balconies, vintage cars, and statues, etc. The goods are relatively cheaper in Georgia, and you can visit those small shops and food stalls to buy anything you want. You should not miss seeing the clock tower and the watch the puppet shows.

Learn to make Georgian bread

The Georgian people are very fond of bread whether it is laden with cheese, eggs or other ingredients. You will be surprised to know that there is a company called Teste Georgia who often teaches tourist about the Georgian way of baking the bread. Coincidently it was also founded by a visitor. It has local expert bakers to do the best job.

Spend time in Tbilisi Sea

The term Tbilisi Sea is confusing as it is not a sea.  It is a place called Turtle Lake which is a lake that combines two reservoirs that allow people to sunbathe and swim and thus enjoy their afternoon. It is not far from the city center, and you can reach there by taking a taxi. While going there, you must pack your food as no eating joints are located there. 

Hangout at the old Soviet fabric factory 

Fabrica is the name of a former Soviet factory which has now been turned into a multipurpose building that accommodates a co-working space, boutique hostel, and live-music venue. It is one of the great places to spend an afternoon if you are occupied with some work.

Visit the art gallery 27

This is one of the most scenic locations in the city. If you are fond of local photography of Georgia, you must visit this place. Its main attraction is the stained glass windows that impress both local and tourists. If you are looking to collect souvenir gifts, then this is the ideal place for you.  You can bring the Georgian culture back to your home and give as gifts to your family and friends. 

Do not miss the Narikala fortress

This is an ancient fort built by the Persians way back in the 4th century. Though some portions of its wall were affected by an earthquake in the past, it's well kept because it was built such a long time ago. You can ride on a cable car if you want to explore the fort and walk on its walls. A cable car is a standard mode of transpiration there, and it helps you to view this beautiful monument. Beyond this monument lies the Kartlis Deda which is regarded as the ‘Mother of Georgia' that represents the Georgina national identity. You can find several eating joints there, and they give a lot of chill out options. 

The National Botanical Garden of Georgia 

It is located on the southern part of the Narikala fortress. It is spread in a sprawling 161 hectares, and you will require walking a lot to see the various collections of plants. You can explore nature and relax there by looking at the waterfall and the lake. If you have an adventurous spirit, you can take a zip line from the Naharika fort to this garden. However, if you have an older adult or small children with you, it may not be a suitable place because you will require climbing a lot of stairs. So keep that in mind.
