Indeed, a car jack is simple to use. Firstly, locate the safe lift point and with the help of the best car jack, lift the front section of the car.

When front wheels are off the ground, keep the jack stands on the lift points on each side. Lower your vehicle until it is safely weighed on the jack stands.
Repeat the above step with the rear wheels and you car will be completely off the ground.
When it is time to lower the car back down, raise the car with the jack to remove the stands. Now slowly bring the car back to the ground.

Yes, it is that easy but still using the car jack calls for some precautionary tips to avoid any mishap. Here are some car jack safety rules you should never ever break.

  1. The most common mistake people make is that they use only car jack without a jack stand. Even is you have bought it from best car jack brand in India, always use a jack stand because using only a car jack is not enough. You can get crushed under the vehicle.

  2. Using the jack stand isn’t enough, you also have to make sure that it is secured. For that you need to check that the part of the car resting on the jack is flat and touch the middle of the cradle at the top of the stand. All the jack stands are at equal height, and all four legs of the base of the jack stands sit safely on the ground.
If any of the stands wiggles, readjust it until you are sure that it is fully secured. The best way to double check is - shake your car a little bit and if the jacks don't move, it's safe to start working.

  3. You will not always be using a car jack in a garage, so while using it outside a garage, make sure that you park your vehicle on level ground before using a car jack. They are to be used vertically since gravity can easily pull your car off a jack if it is not leveled. If parking on a level ground isn’t possible, then try to park next to a curb with the wheels turned toward the curb. Block the downside wheels so that your vehicle doesn’t roll downhill.

  4. Find the correct jack points because not doing so can damage the frame or suspension. The jack points are given in the car’s manual or you can always find it online by searching for your car’s year, make, and model.

  5. Never jack up a car without blocking the wheels that aren’t to be rasied. You can use wheel chocks, wooden wedges, bricks, or pieces of wood to block the wheels on the side where the car isn’t raised. And of course, do not forget to engage the parking brake.

  6. Never make the mistake of overloading a car jack or a jack stand. Check the load rating instructions of your jacks to ensure they can hold the weight above them. Also, never shake the car more than necessary once you're under it a sthat can move the part of the car inside the cradle to the edge causing it to slip out.

These safety requirements will make sure that even the best car jack doesn’t fail. However, if you are still not confident or comfortable using them, it is best to get your car fixed by a professional mechanic.
