The Rise of Alia Bhatt from Bubbly to an Explosive Talent

by Tarun K. Love Travel

When Alia made her debut, many people had their qualms about the actress. Her typical girly and bubbly charm made it really difficult to predict her future. Many pretty faces were reining the film industry. So, the critics and stakeholders were not sure of their opinions. However, the actress has come much far from her SOTY days. She is vulnerable as well as powerful. She is a die-hard romantic and a headstrong rival. She has a comprehensive understanding of her emotions and presenting them.

With her latest release ‘Kalank’ just around the corner, we thought to check her journey. The following post reflects how a pretty and bubbly girl became ‘Sehmat’. In fact, she is oozing a mature beauty and charm in Kalank. So, we suggest that you get the tickets pre-booked with latest TicketNew offers. Don’t miss this movie, for it is a game changer for many names.

Well, here we go!

SOTY to ‘Dulhaniya’:

Alia Bhatt started as a peppy girl with a standard rich Indian background in SOTY. The movie got her compared with Kareena Kapoor as well. However, the characteristic ‘fizz' of Kareena was surely missing. Now, she made a brilliant decision to break free from this comparison. She picked an extremely amazing movie ‘Highway'. It showcased many things – depression, Stockholm's Syndrome, Societal Norms and their pressure, etc.

Alia excelled in every single scene. Her depiction of a reluctant bride was awesome. The way she acted while confessing her childhood abuse made the audience cry. The general impression of ‘clean image’ generated by rich and influential that hides the scars was depicted perfectly. This movie surely changed things for her.

Then came some commercial Rom-Coms with Varun – ‘Dulhaniya’ franchise! She was hilarious and entertaining. However, the movies lacked substance and were just light-hearted.

A hiatus with commercial movies:

Her stint in ‘2 States' for which she learned Tamil, was praised as well. She was fresh and looked like a typical college girl in the movie.

Alia acted in many light movies such as ‘Shaandaar’ and ‘Kapoor & Sons’. She immersed in her roles and gave India some peppy party numbers. But, her growth and versatility were somewhere halted. It was not that she wasn’t being cast or something. It seemed as if she was trying everything to anything. However, she came bright and sterling as ever in ‘Udta Punjab’.

Though the role was voiced to be biased and demeaning to the actual people from Bihar, she worked well.

‘Dear Zindagi’ and success!

Then came the project from Red Chillies Entertainment – ‘Dear Zindagi’. Her depiction of a person with a successful career but confused conscience was terrific. The way therapy and depression were shown, actually helped Alia to boost her image. She looked every bit her character. People saw her emerging as a different and mature actress.

It was at that time when she enacted the life of ‘Sehmat'. ‘Raazi' movie was a perfect rendition of the turbulent times in Indian history. She exhibited a perfectly mature character that had its insecurities. The film was a hit and Alia got another diverse role mastered. She opened many different avenues for her with these movies.

Gully Boy and Kalank:

Her latest movie with Ranveer Singh was ‘Gully Boy' which was surely entertaining. From her speech to her mannerism and her dialogue delivery to her emotions – AMAZING!! The girl that started as a clueless bird now has wings to take her to many unexplored territories. ‘Kalank' trailers, songs and teasers have shown her another unknown side.

Well, the movie released already. Let’s watch what she offers as a grown-up actress. So, get your tickets bookings done and gear-up!!
