The New Chinese Power under the “Road and Belt” Initiative -Yuchai Group

A few days ago, seven types of Yuchai’s Euro VI engines, were successfully ignited, with higher performance than the foreign similar products. So far, there have been over 10 types of Yuchai Euro VI engines. At the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing in May of this year, there were 105 motor coaches equipped with Yuchai engine to serve the attending guests with satisfying results. Yuchai Group has become the new Chinese power under the “Road and Belt” Initiative.

Since a few years ago, Yuchai has set about the overseas layout, focusing on various aspects, such as market research, service network distribution & construction, construction of consolidated storage, staff distribution and materials allocation. In July 2015, 1,060 school buses equipped with Yuchai engine were exported to Saudi Arabia, which was a second achievement Yuchai had made after the largest order: 204 sightseeing buses were delivered in a single batch in June of that year to Thailand. Meanwhile, it was the first large order of China’s bus export business since 2015.

In response to the implementation of the “Road and Belt” Initiative of China, Yuchai has effectively combined “Yuchai brand” with “localization”, to build Yuchai service brand. It has not only set up overseas offices in the relevant countries, such as Saudi Arabia Office and Thailand Office, but also made innovations in its marketing model to effectively and practically implement the policies of “One Solution for One Country” and “One Policy for One Family” on the market development. Yuchai Group has also fully carried out the proxy service pattern, fanning out from point to area, to establish the network of proxy service with a wide coverage and a strong serviceability. Yuchai Group has held numerous engine technical trainings in the countries along the “Road and Belt”, to solve customers’ problems. Currently, the number of overseas service agents of Yuchai Group has been up to around 200, who provided a strong guarantee for the after-sale service work. Meanwhile, the brand has also constantly got more overseas customers, conducive to the publicity of “Made in China”.

Yuchai Helps Chinese Brands in Upgrading

The Yuchai engine has become not only a preferred power for Chinese bus enterprises exporting to Saudi Arabia, but also a power given preference by customers in Saudi Arabia. In June of this year, 600 buses equipped with Yuchai engine were exported to Saudi Arabia. So far, Yuchai Group has possessed nearly 20,000 vehicles in Saudi Arabia, accounting for approximately 70% in the bus market of Saudi Arabia. And in Thailand, tens of millions of visitors from around the world take the bus equipped with Yuchai engine shuttling between the green mountains and rivers every year.

On June 14 of this year, the first batch of Yangon bus project-2,000 buses equipped with Yuchai natural gas engine-were delivered to Yangon. This project is an important project for the reform of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. Yuchai has made a detailed plan for the service assurance, to make sure the smooth operation of vehicles.

Against the background of the “Road and Belt” Initiative, Yuchai actively deepens the global overseas marketing strategy and promotes the overseas connotative expansion of products, earning an eye-catching performance in the overseas market. More than 5,200 export orders were received in May of this year, which was the first time that 5,000 engines had been sold within a month in the past six years. From January to May of this year, the overseas export volume of the Yuchai engine grew 4% year on year, among which the amount of the bus engine doubled year on year.

Currently, Chinese engine brands represented by Guangxi Yuchai Power Machinery Co., Ltd. have possessed the same strength competed with the international A-list brands. During the process of better integrating into the “Road and Belt” Initiative, Yuchai Group will produce an advantage to help Chinese brands upgrade from “going out” to “accessing to”.
