The Most Common Fungus Infection: How to Spot it and How to Get Rid of It

by Thefinchley Clinic TheFinchleyClinic

Candida is the most common type of fungus injection that we have. This is because it is something that should naturally occur in our bodies. It only becomes a problem when it grows out of control. In short, it is normal to have candida, but its overgrowth is not. Here we are going to explain a bit more about this strange, human-friendly (for the most part) fungus.

Where Do We Find It?

We mentioned that candida is a fungus that grows naturally in the body. It is found in places that are damp and moist, but primarily in the mouth and digestive system.

Does it Have Any Benefits?

It actually has many benefits. When kept under control it helps our bodies to digest food. It aids in nutrient absorption by breaking down the food that we eat. It is one of many so-called ‘friendly bacteria’ and for the most part, we have a symbiotic relationship: we give it a home, and in return, it keeps the place clean.

If It’s Friendly, Why is it a Problem?

When kept at optimal levels, there is no problem at all, it’s helpful. However, given the right conditions it will grow and reproduce, where it reaches levels that become problematic. When this happens, it can cause many problems, including the following:

·         It can break through the walls of the intestines and entre the bloodstream, introducing bacteria that the blood cannot deal with, and subsequently leading to toxicity.

·         It is the cause of various fungal infections, such as Athlete’s foot, fungal nail infection, thrush (mouth and private parts) and throat infections.

·         It can cause digestive discomfort: mainly gas, but in extreme cases, it can eat away at the intestine walls, and cause leaks. These are generally mild, but they do cause pain.

·         It can reduce the efficiency of the immune system. This is because the immune system becomes overworked trying to control the overgrowth of fungus, leading to fewer resources in fighting other types of injection. In other words, it makes you more susceptible to infection and disease.

·         It causes tiredness: well, this should come as no surprise. Your immune system is in overdrive, you feel itchy and you may have some form of toxicity: of course, you'll feel tired.

·         It can cause anxiety and depression. Again, these are secondary symptoms caused by an over-active immune system.

What Can You Do?

Given the potential for problematic side effects, it is important that you keep levels of candida in balance. You do not want to get rid of it completely, because this leads to problems too; but, you don’t want to let it grow out of control either.

The best way to maintain healthy levels of candida is to use a supplement that will keep it in check. Special types of probiotic will help, because it will introduce other types of bacteria that can keep the candida in check. Other types of supplement that may help include those that oxygenate the gut. Oxygen will kill some of the fungus, but not all – which is what you need.
