The different philosophies of teaching English Literature
by Amity University Best Private UniversityEducation is a macro element in
which society depends on to achieve a better living. Education rests on
philosophies that instruct and develop the best application of educational
research and learning. The problems that have existed in the immediate environment
have funneled the need for human beings to bolster innovation in education;
this has helped eradicate some of the common problems that have historically
been part of the human story. Teaching remains the means of passing down the
knowledge to future generations. Therefore, the success of education will
depend on the effectiveness of teachers of bachelor’s
degree in English literature in Jaipur.
Perennialism
as the core aspect
The desire to learn new things which
are not overwritten by time makes education an interesting venture. Most
students in classrooms cultivate ideas out of the source material that the
teacher provides. English Literature is pegged on perennialism as a core
driving philosophy in teaching.
Essentialism
is an integral part of teaching
Essentialism instills the discipline
in the world of academia, and it is mostly affected by schools as learning
institutions and character shaping societies. Most of my learning time, schools
have always stood out to award discipline and academics. Teachers have even
created a correlation between success and discipline. The effectiveness of
essentialism is to create a student who can fit constructively in society.
It is believed that education should
be practical but dynamic at the same time. Therefore, fidelity to the
curriculum should be maintained but whenever knowledge becomes obsolete then
one should adopt the innovations initiated by research. Students should be
taught to work around the clock with their knowledge and device, innovate on
the existing ideas through academic fairs and challenges. Teachers should also
reward to motivate the students' effort.
Progressivism
emphasizes addressing individual needs
The other philosophy is the idea
that education should focus on the individual child and not the curriculum and
the instructor. Students should be encouraged to run tests on the learning
content to discern the practicability of those principles. This is an active
form of learning which would facilitate the interaction of the student with the
learning environment. This method is effective as it exacerbates innovation and
new ideas consequently leading to new knowledge. Teachers of science apply
progressivism to enable students to apply the scientific theories learned in
the classroom in the laboratories.
Reconstructionism
The quest to create a better society
lies with the learning of social reconstructionism. Every element, whether
scientific or artistic, cannot exist minus the society. Therefore, teachers
need to teach students the art of governance and politics to learn the social
system the society is founded on. For BA (Hon.) English,
Amity University Jaipur is the best one which covers all the aspects of
learning.
Without a good social foundation,
then innovation might lie in the hands of cruel people who might contribute to
the annihilation of the whole world, just like the two world wars faced by the
globe. Teachers should sensitize the learning of virtues and norms to create
law-abiding and resourceful citizens.
