Mysore is the city of the Maharajas and it speaks of grandeur and opulence due to its rich royal and colonial heritage. The city is seething in history and culture and is hence a major travel destination. While there are a lot of people who flock to Mysore for weekend getaways from nearby cities, there are also a large number of tourists to specially want to get a taste of the royalty of Mysore tourism and travel from far off places just to experience this. Amongst this, a large number of foreign tourists are also included. So, if you have the money and want to like king style then of course you should stay nowhere else but in some of the lavish 5 star hotels near Mysore Palace and feel like a Maharaja yourself.

There are quite a few 5 star hotels near Mysore palace but if I had to pick out on favorite amongst the many 5 star hotels near Mysore Palace then for me it would be the Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel.

What sets this apart from the other 5 star hotels near Mysore palace is the fact that it is a heritage hotel. It was constructed specially by the then Maharaja of Mysore who belonged to the Wodeyar dynasty. He has this palace constructed in order to create accommodation for the then Viceroy of India. This Palace was also used to host the guests of the Maharaja who came from far off lands specially Europe.  Later on the government converted this beautiful palace that is a prime example of wonderful architecture into a heritage hotel and is thus a prime spot for a lot of travel enthusiasts.

The Lalitha Mahal Palace is set on a small hillock that gives one an entire view of the Chamundi hills and is a beautiful sight in its own self. It is a two storied structure and has a large number of domes, with a he central dome that gives it, its elevation.

Just as the name suggests, the accommodation at the hotel is also pretty lavish. You have the heritage rooms, the deluxe rooms, the heritage suite, the viceroy’s suite, the heritage classic room and the heritage family rooms. There are specific rooms that overlook the pool as well. Along with the rooms there are beautiful banquets and terraces and lawns that are used for conferences, parties and other celebrations, and all of this, in the royal style.

Not only are the rooms royal, but the facilities offered at the hotel are no less lavish. You have the fitness center for fitness enthusiasts; there is a wide swimming pool, a shopping arcade, a travel desk, money exchange, dry cleaning and laundry and also a helipad.

Thus I am pretty sure that by now you must be having a vivid picture of the Lalitha Palace Hotel in your mind and I am sure that you must be craving to visit it. Well, according to me anyone who wants to experience royal Mysore must stay here for sure.
