Textile Engineering Colleges in India

by Aman Sharma Educational Blogger &Content Writer
Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) is the top textile engineering colleges in India. This institute is affiliated to the top university of North India, the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, which is now among the top ten in India.  PIET is also approved by the AICTE, Govt. of India and is managed by Vidiyapeeth Society (VPET), an organization best known for its role in quality education systems and solutions in this part of the country. Owing to these qualities VPET conceived about a Textile Engineering College in the Panipat region. They chose this place because Panipat city is the hub of textile industry in different forms like bed sheets, blankets, upholstery, carpets, towels etc. Also because the Indian cotton fabrics are liked by Europeans and some other countries, it is a city of export houses.

Paradoxically, in a country of textile business there is a dearth of textile colleges resulting into many an able youth not fulfilling  their missions of life, because for a rural Haryana it is not possible for an average home to send his child for higher studies away from home for reasons like lack of awareness and financial crunch. This is how an educationally aware VPET took a bold step to establish a Textile Engineering College in the center of a cluster of 80 odd villages of Panipat District providing an easy access to the path of dreams for the new generation at a time when textile has assumed the status of a big and flourishing business in the name of FASHION industry.

The wisdom of PIET management while choosing the location as center for villages but on the National Highway No. 1, the life line of the nation, has paid dividends in the form of this institute becoming the favourite of Delhi city students, who probably want a relief from the polluted air and jammed city traffic and love to come here in pursuit of their career goals. Other than Delhi, students from Bihar, Jharkhand, MP, J&K, North East etc. also love to come here, a zone of comfort and care they are provided in the form of a world class infrastructure with AC class, one and half dozen computer labs filled with 1000 computers, nicely constructed and graciously furnished hostels for boys and girls, boarding house to ensure a safe, healthy and hygienic food, a well-stocked book library, net-cafĂ©, digital library, practical labs, an amphitheater which has been stage for many Bollywood personalities like Javed Ali, Kapil Sharma, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Neha Kakkar, Badshah and some other Punjabi Pop singers like Amy Virk, Jassi Gill, Babal Rai, Hans Raj Hans to be on the lighter side and on the elite serious front the great people like The teacher President Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Haryana & Punjab, The State Minister of Transport Sh. Krishan Panwar to name a few. As the story goes this also is the stage for the young aspirants to exhibit their managerial skills when they are encouraged to actively participate in organizing the college function well paced through the year as also their extracurricular skills attained during their stay here.

All above happens under the guidance of highly competent teachers all of whom are totally dedicated to their role and responsibility in shaping the students in such a way that while they are being infused with knowledge with the help of latest methodology and technology which are available to them easily due to the global tie-ups with universities of Singapore, Holland, Germany, UK, USA etc. their all-round development too is ensured to make them confident to face bigger challenges. The results are awe inspiring as this year 33% of the textile students got placed during campus interviews in companies like Arvind and Nahar. This is what has made the Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) the top textile engineering colleges in India.
