Ten's shake-up: The Simpsons may get a new home

by Wang Shadvall sales

The Simpsons have been synonymous with Network Ten for more than 20 years but that seems certain to change under new boss Hamish McLennan.
He's only been at the helm of Ten for little over two months and his first major announcement on Monday was that the station is going to target a more mature audience.walt Disney 172 dvd box set
Its new target demographic, said McLennan, is the 25 to 54-year-olds.
The changes, some signalled and some implied in an interview with AAP, suggest McLennan is about to downgrade Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa to a digital station.

Sport though, in particular Australian cricket, is a priority.
And we can expect mature casting for new reality shows such as The Bachelor.
McLennan said lessons have been learnt from 2012 - a tough year for Ten, when several reality shows bombed.
The network came to the realisation that the younger audiences it was trying to attract, do not exist in great numbers.
"Shows like The Shire and Being Lara Bingle were targeted at the younger end of the audience spectrum and it alienated the older viewers," McLennan says.
"Just by simple casting decisions, like casting a 35 to 40 year-old as The Bachelor, we pull the age profile up," he says.Modern Family dvd season 4
Yet the task of luring 25 to 54-year-olds will be no easy feat.
