·  Prepare the location- The location plays a really important role to calm your mind. Make sure that the place where you are going to carry on the massage process needs to be warm and calming. You can also play some eventful music to create a nice environment. 

 

·  Make the person lie face down - The person should not lie down in the supine position, as it is a back-massage process. After the person lies down accordingly, undress them as per their comfort level in order to spread the oil all over the massage area. You can use oils like grape seed, coconut or almond. Make sure that the oil is a bit warm. Spread the oil by your hand, starting from the bottom and moving upward on the person back. Make sure to not forget the neck and the shoulder area. 




·  Circular strokes- Use circular and shorter strokes on the back by applying the right amount of pressure. You can use your fingertips, knuckles and your cupped hands to do the process in the right way. You can then hold out your thumb by closing your fingers and twist the area. Keep repeating this step by moving up and down. 

 

·  Be careful on the spine- Do not apply the direct pressure over the spine area, massage the muscles on either side instead. Apply some pressure on the hip area and come back around to each side. Push the one hand away on the person’s side by pulling one hand to yourself. Do not stop until you reach the area of the person’s shoulder. Repeat this for at least three times.
