Take Your Kids to Fiji on Christmas Holiday

by Mohimenul Islam SEO service provider

Fiji is famous as the home of ‘the friendliest people in the world,’ and is a lovely, safe place to take your kids to. Many island resorts have made it their mission to become the first choice for families, including Castaway, Malolo, Mana (all 4*), Treasure and Plantation (both 3*), and outdo each other in providing the best kids club activities and babysitting services. Here are a few more details about a couple of the most popular ones (due to word limit constraints) your family might enjoy visiting, in no particular order.

Mana Island

Crystal clear turquoise waters and white sand beaches are on offer at this tropical paradise of an island. If you can, choose one of the beach front bures to stay in, unless you are travelling with a baby, in which case it’s better to go for a room or suite as bures do not offer baths. This is a great  option for avid snorkelers and professional beach pancakes and those wishing to primarily relax by the pool, cocktail in hand. There is buffet style dining, complete with egg station, as well as a South Beach restaurant a la carte to choose from, plus a gift shop. The resort may be considered a little tired in places, but Mana is beautiful, fairly compact and convenient, with three beaches within walking distance: North and South Beach within minutes, and the more secluded Sunset Beach, a 15 minute walk away. There are also lovely lookouts perfect for admiring those amazing sunsets!

Mana’s kids club is designed to cater for kids 3 to 12, and the cost is a nominal $20 FJD per stay. The Meimei centre for under three year olds offers 5 free hours of care per day between 9am and 9pm, so you can leave the kids in good hands and have some deserved time out at Mana spa having a massage!

For the budget conscious, there is also a backpackers nearby, offering inexpensive lunches and bottled water. For fussy kids, you might want to bring some familiar snacks, as the island shop is on the expensive side and has limited stock. Kids get their own feeding station at meals though, full of naughty foods they love, such as pizza and chips. Other things to bring include your kids’ favourite beach gear as well as sunscreen, and remember to tell them that the water from the tap is not for drinking!

Castaway Island

Castaway is a smaller resort island with 66 bures, and also offers two beaches and walking trails, so your kids should not notice the lack of TV with all the activities and fabulous snorkelling on offer. Much of the above general Mana information applies here as well. The free kids club (also for over 3 year olds) offers supervised daily activities, often educational in nature and grounded in Fijian culture. There is a nanny service available too, for a nominal charge. For minimal noise, choose a south beach bure. The resort has undergone a recent overhaul and now has a new pool area designed especially for small children, complete with a snack bar for the supervising adults! (the adult pool has a swim-up bar, and is a kid-free zone). The kids will love the banana boat and kayaking trips around the island, and as the resort is smaller, they are bound to make friends quickly, can’t really get lost, yet have plenty to explore.

There are plenty of Fiji family Christmas holiday packages to choose from, so you are bound to find something to everyone’s liking. It’s a good idea to narrow it down to a few choices that appeal to you and then consult with the older kids about which place they would prefer to go and visit – after all, it is their holiday as well!
