Take These 4 Things Into Account When Looking at Wedding Venues in Atlanta

by Kevin Smith Author

Aside from your dress, one of the most important things to take into account on your wedding day is the venue. You must have the perfect place, and you’ll know it when you see it. How do you scale down your list of maybes into something manageable for you and your fiancé to visit? Take these four things into account first.

1. Is the venue big enough?

Right off the bat, you must consider size. Look at your guest list and then add about 20 people just in case. You never know who might show up with an extra guest or uninvited. Then, as you consider the venues make certain the ones you place on your “We Must Check It Out” list are big enough to accommodate all of your guests. Another consideration is whether the venue has convenient rooms for the bride, groom and their parties to prepare and wait prior to the ceremony.

2. Do you like how it looks?

You’ll need to see the place in person to answer this question completely, but as you look at pictures, you can cross off places that don’t suit your style immediately. For example, if you want a traditional wedding, a modern building will not suffice. If you have a theme in mind, the surrounding area may affect your choice. Judge a book by its cover initially when looking at wedding venues in Atlanta, and don’t schedule visits to places that left you thinking, “No!” as you looked at their photos.

3. What about the temperatures?

Whether you are planning your wedding to be indoors or outdoors, you’ll need to consider the environment. If you are getting married outdoors, the weather will play a crucial role on your special day, so plan accordingly. Don’t schedule an outdoor wedding in the middle of summer unless your guests can arrive in shorts and a tank top! Indoors you have better control over whether the air will be too hot or too cold, so make certain the venue can accommodate your temperature preference.

4. Will the guests have easy access to accommodations nearby?

Finally, unless you are planning a super small wedding with only family and friends, chances are you’ll have a ton of guests that need accommodations because they’re traveling to Atlanta from out of town. The best wedding venues in Atlanta will offer plenty of luxurious accommodations for your wedding guests near your venue. In fact, if you book your wedding at Callaway Gardens, there is a luxurious resort on the property. This makes getting to your nuptials a piece of cake for everyone.
