The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been dominating the Indian MPV segment for close to a decade now. Ertiga’s large, comfortable cabin with practical features and a decent ride quality, at a fraction of the cost of its competition, gave the car its well-deserved success. Celebrating the Ertiga’s success and potential further, Maruti Suzuki had launched the Tour M, which is aimed specifically towards the commercial market, appealing to cab fleet aggregators and taxi operators.

The Exteriors

The exteriors of the Tour M flaunt a simplistic yet practical design and feature a chrome grille, full-wheel caps, projector headlights (halogen), body-coloured door handles, ORVMs and bumpers, along with turn indicators integrated into the ORVMs.

Interiors

The Tour M is based on the VXi trim of the standard Ertiga in terms of features and offers a comfortable ride at a low cost of ownership, focused on passenger comfort and experience. The Ertiga Tour M is equipped with air conditioning, power steering, front and rear power windows, remote central locking and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, among other features.

For the maximum comfort for rear passengers, the car also features an accessory socket with smartphone storage space, adjustable ACs, headrests and even armrests in the 2^nd row. For the driver, the car is equipped an infotainment system with USB/AUX connectivity and steering mounted controls. With a focus on taxi-usage, the Tour M also offers flexible luggage space.

 

Safety

The Maruti Suzuki Tour M Ertiga lays great focus on passenger safety and well-being, owing to its appeal as a fleet cab. The Tour M comes equipped with a host of safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and a maximum speed limiting function, set at 80 Km/h from the factory.

The Tour M also features seat-belt reminders, speed sensitive door locks, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and a security alarm for complete peace of mind of the occupants. Maruti Suzuki aims to provide the safest and the most comfortable ride with the Tour M Ertiga.

 

Performance

On the performance front, the Maruti Suzuki Tour M Ertiga petrol is equipped with a 1.5L BS-6 compliant K15B petrol engine that produces 77 kW of max power and 138 Nm of max torque. The Tour M Ertiga only gets the option of a 5-speed manual transmission with this engine and yields a modest fuel-efficiency of 18.04 Km/l.

The Tour M Ertiga is also available with a factory-fitted S-CNG kit and offers an even higher fuel efficiency of 26.08 Km/Kg. The S-CNG Tour M offers enhanced performance, safety, and unmatched convenience, while ensuring consistent performance across all terrains. The auto-fuel switch allows easy switching of fuel from petrol to CNG, avoiding any jerks.

 

The Tour M Ertiga offers a good number of features and practicality, focussed on the taxi segment, with seating space for 7 adults (6 passengers), a big fuel tank, and all necessary safety precautions in place.
