Study plan for Civil Services
by Ravi Dutt Sharma Digital MarketingFirst and most important: self-motivation
Cracking IAS
in not two or four months game. IAS Exam is a marathon, not a sprint. Patience
and self-motivation are necessary weapons. You are going to become an IAS
officer, who is responsible for the administration of whole district. So think
you are on the seat of the district collector who is responsible for the
welfare of multitudes of people and delivering justice. Rome was not built
in a day. Preparation is the first step in that long
journey.
Start your journey with first step
A journey of
a thousand miles begins with a single step. The longest and most
difficult ventures have a starting point; something which begins with one first
step. Your each small step will make your dream come true. For example: if you
prepare one or two topics daily, count how many topics you have done in 365
days. Go step by step close towards the goal. It’s not about finishing huge
books, it’s about completing each important topic one by one. Split your big
goal and make tiny goals to achieve bigger one. If you can’t sit for 4 hours
continuously, don’t worry, start with half an hour, increase it slowly to one
hour two hours and so on.. if you’re too
afraid to take a three- hour examination at first. Start with half-hour tests,
gain comfort and gradually keep increasing the duration, till 3 hours becomes
comfortable.
After achieving every small goal, it gives us
the satisfaction and mental energy to take on the next challenge.
Early startup is
batter choice:
It is generally batter to
start early when you dreams to become an IAS Officer. Moreover it will save
your time as well as you will compete other aspirants equally. But that doesn’t
mean that one should start right from 5th standard.
You must have a right approach for such exam.
Evaluate yourself
You cannot perform that much batter is you didn’t evaluate your efforts
during the preparations. So it is always suggested that have a mentor who can
check your performance and guide you properly. This will not only boost your
preparations but also build your confidence to appear in the final exam.
Make newspaper reading your
habit. Go through your old school books. Those texts are the base of your
study. NCERT books are a good source for basic knowledge for IAS preparations.
You can collect them from book stores or may also download from different
online sites.
