travelogue, so that Mahmud Ghaznavi attacked the Somnath temple with his five

the Delhi Sultanate took over Gujarat in 1297. Mughal emperor Aurangzeb ordered
in 1702 that if Hindus worship again in the Somnath temple, it would be
completely demolished. Eventually he
again demolished the Shiva Temple in 1706. The Shiva Temple as it stands at
present built by the Home Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and
dedicated to the nation by the President of India, Shankar Dayal Sharma on
December 1, 1995.

marriage with the seven daughters of King Daksha. But he loved his only wife
