Something Borrowed - The Fashion Girl Code

by Kumud Kaushik Jewellery Author

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a girl in college is in want of new clothes. Let it also be acknowledged that this girl is usually flat broke. While most of us girls satisfy our fashion lusts by indulging in glossy magazines and endless online shopping at Bling Station; a lot of us are ignoring other resources, like our boyfriends’ closets. Ladies always want a piece of clothing from that special someone to always keep them feeling close to him, and what better (or more stylish) way can you feel his presence while away than stealing a pair of jeans, shorts, t-shirts or a jacket?

Something Borrowed - The Fashion Girl Code

Men love seeing their significant ones in something personal, so raiding his closet is really only natural. When he is in the living room working or playing video games creates the best opportunity to take advantage of his closet. Buy jewelry from Bling station so you don’t look like a straight up train wreck of a tomboy.

While your friends’ closets may appear to be tempting treasure troves of new-to-you clothing, borrowing can be tricky. Multiple friendships have ended over stained cocktail dresses and ripped jeans. Your boyfriend, however, will probably not break up with you over a tiny juice stain on his flannel; in fact, he will probably never even notice, so think menswear and start digging!

The V-Neck:

If you want a cute v-neck, but are worried about excessive cleavage, the men’s v-neck is the way to go. This solid stand-by is often sold in 3-packs and come in a variety of colors and styles. The v ranges from just a small dip at the collarbone to a deeper v, which goes a few inches lower on the chest. In my experience, these shirts are often comfier and less expensive than women’s v-necks and provide a middle ground between the crew neck and the deep v.

Change into one of his tees or shirts you have always admired on him and strut out of the bedroom, create a little bit of distraction by putting on some girl things; you can buy bangles online from Bling Station. It will leave him feeling happy and blessed for having you in his life. So you end up leaving with that nice top!'

The Button Up:

If your boyfriend is a size or larger than you; his button ups will be a perfect fit. Men’s shirts are cut straight and are often several inches longer than female button ups, This roominess allows for a more comfortable fit. Cuff the sleeves up to or past your elbow and wear with denim cutoffs for a casual summer look. If your beau’s button ups look more like dresses on you, try wearing them as light weight bathing suit cover ups. Or if you are pairing them with jeans or skirts put on some Bling Station’s designed silver bracelet.

The Real boyfriend Jeans:

You can subtly always ask for something more comfortable to change into when you arrive at his abode. He’ll either give you the liberty of choosing what to wear or pick it out himself, but always suggest you do the choosing. This is the moment when you make a smart move and reach for what you’ve had eyes on for quite a while and put it on, he will definitely asks if you feel comfortable wearing those jeans or baggy shorts, but you give him all the excuses you can think of in other to keep those jeans on. Now you have included a pair of boyfriend jeans to your stash of clothes!

Steal that Cool Sporty Jacket:

When you are around his closet try and pretend you are a bit cold. Then ask him cutely for that super cool sporty jacket. When it’s time for you to go home and he gets up to grab the pair of keys to his car, don’t even dare taking of that jacket if you want to end up keeping it. While he drives you home, distract him with sweet gossip and voila! You would end up walking into your apartment a proud owner of a new boyfriend jacket!

At the end of the day you have dressed yourself from head to toe in all the things you ever wanted from his closet. Girl Code!
