by Michael O Norton Forex Trader
Every child is gifted with some inborn creativity, and as parents it is our responsibility to give them opportunities to showcase and discover their talents in a variety of fields. Studies show that creativity is essential to the success of young children. The child’s ability to think creatively builds self-expression, emotional development, and fosters an appreciation towards nature. For teachers and parents, it is important to provide chances for child-directed play that allows children to turn their ordinary ideas into extraordinary results. Below are smart ways by Helene Goldnadel to foster such creativity:

Spark Creativity through Play
Pretend play and dramatic play encourage children to use their imagination and explore their ideas and feelings. Teachers of a preschool can take the kids out and involve them in pretend play. Provide children costumes and props of the role they are taking and let them play freely through a range of stimulating activities. Teachers can also encourage children to ask questions and share their feelings through puppet play, storytelling, and make-believe plays.

Provide Resources for Creative Expression
Children must be provided with enough resources such as art and craft items, colors, chart papers, toys, etc. to get their creative juices flowing. For the best preschool, it is important to give children spaces so that they can make a mess and come out with creative ideas in the best possible manner.

Encourage Children to Participate
Children must be encouraged to participate in stage functions and competitions organized the best preschool. Poem recitation, dance competitions, fancy dress, etc. not only unleash creative side of the children, but also build their self-esteem, confidence and self-expression.

Indulge in Imaginative Query
Creative questioning allows children to understand new things and grasp fresh ideas in unique ways. Sit with your child and look at a picture book together and indulge in open-ended questions, such as, “what do you see in the picture?”, “what are the people doing in the picture?”, “how does it feel to be that butterfly?” to encourage creative thinking skills. You can also play a guessing game by instructing the child to close his eyes and identify items through smell, touch or feel.

Storytelling
Children have an innate love for stories and why not. Stories have the power to create sense of magic and adventure in little kids. Stories also capture attention and spark interest in children. Storytelling is a unique and engaging way to promote creativity in kids and take them to the world of fantasy. When children listen to stories, they in a way build language skills, vocabulary, while boosting imaginative abilities in them.
