Nowadays, children are no longer restricted to learn and gain knowledge from textbooks. Smart classroom in India is the sophisticated replacement of the traditional blackboards and chalk and duster. Smart classrooms are the classrooms that are enhanced with technological equipment for a better teaching and learning experience. Based on the types of equipment, smart classrooms can be categorized into the following:

Basic Smart Classroom - This is the classroom with basic smart technology that includes computers or laptops, DVD and a white screen, etc.

Intermediate Smart Classroom - This classroom is one step ahead of the basic technology classroom. It includes gadgets like laptop, projector, white screen, DVD and a smart podium with a control panel.

Advanced Smart Classroom - This smart classroom has all the gadgets of a basic and intermediate classroom. Its features are advanced and use the latest technology.

What are the types of equipment needed to be installed in a smart classroom in India?

Here are the types of equipment that needed to be installed in the smart classrooms:

Laptop / Computer - This is the basic requirement of a smart classroom. Instead of using the traditional ways, the teaching process is done with the help of presentation, images, and multimedia in the classroom.

Projector - A projector is an optical device that projects stationery and moving objects onto a screen.

Screen - It is a white screen that is used to display the images projected by the projector. The screens can be pull-down screens, rigid wall-mounted screens, electrical screens, fixed frame screens or mobile screens.

Microphone - It is called as mic. or mike. This device converts audio signals into electrical signals that further transmitted, amplified and recorded.

Speaker and Amplifier - An amplifier is a device that is used to increase the volume of a sound.

Document Camera - It is also called visualizer or digital overhead. This device is used to display an object to a large audience. It magnifies and projects the image of a two-dimensional and a three-dimensional object.

Smart Podiums - Smart podiums are also known as smart boards. It is a pen display that can be connected to the computer or laptop externally via USB port. With this device, you can open presentations, multimedia files, documents and can write on them with the digital pen.

Smart classroom solution increases the interest of students in studies and they tend to learn more. With so many advantages and a few disadvantages, smart classes still considered good for all the students. Overall, integrating smart classrooms in Indian schools will surely change the way teachers convey knowledge to the students and at the same time, it simplifies the learning process for students. They find it much easier and interactive to engage with the concepts and gain a better understanding of the overall lesson. It is an ideal tool for every classroom. The education sector needs to adopt the latest technologies for the betterment of students, learners, and teachers to continue to grow in their fields.
