Seeing Jesus

by Jean Parrott WRITER
I was a Christian for a long time before I ever found my life. I needed to find it and on my way to heaven but I 'd no clue what my life was all around, because it was concealed, although I was saved. Your daily life is hidden and you need to find it, as well as the way to locate it is found in Colossians 3:1-3, "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God. Place the mind on things above, not on things on our planet. For you died, as well as your life is hidden with Christ in God." As a way to find our 'actual' life we have to get our head 'place' on the matters above, where our life is concealed, and never on the things that are on this earth. We were raised with Christ, we died with Him, we were buried with Him, and we are seated with Him, so, seek those things above, in the spirit realm, where Christ is, because our real life is hidden there. We're not who we think we are or what anybody else has told us we're; we're who God says we're; so, to find out who we're, we have to place our thoughts on things above and not on things which are on this earth.

In John's gospel, one day, some men came to Phillip and said, "Mister, we would see Jesus." When we are looking to the Word of God (matters above), we have to be like these guys, we've got to see Jesus. Whichever publication in the Bible we are reading, it's about Him. He is God in the flesh, He's the only means along with the manner, He is the truth, and He's the light of the whole world. He is on every page through the Bible. One of the reasons we need to see Jesus is found in Romans 8:29, which says you and I have been "predestined" to be conformed to the picture of Jesus. Once we are born again God needs us to look just like Jesus. That doesn't mean we are going to have the same exact personality; what it means is; our characters are going to be conformed to the image of Jesus and we'll do what Jesus did; think like Jesus believed, and we'll act like Jesus acted.

Ephesians 4:17, "This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the 'futility' of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart."  The reason they have been alienated from the life of God is due to ignorance as well as too little comprehension. The word 'futility' there means deprived or void of truth. Basically he's saying, "don't walk around like the Gentiles do, in the futility of their mind (empty headedness), instead walk around realizing what God has said about you, what God has promised, and what God has said." II Corinthians 3:18 says, "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." Notice, as we 'behold' Him, which means 'to focus on'. In other words we are what we focus on. You then will be conformed to that, if you'll start to focus on the goodness of God, the grace of God, the love of God, what God has created you to be in Christ. So, therefore, set on things above, then you definitely will begin to hear the Word of God, and it'll change your destiny and your own life!
