Royal Enfield has modernized the Interceptor 650 with refined, subtle alterations and in the US, it would be known INT 650 from now on.

Royal Enfield has completely lived up to its huge bike promises and also proved that it can easily compete against the likes of Triumph and Harley-Davidson by stepping out outside of its comfort region in the middleweight type. The advent of the sought-after RE Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 has been the ultimate shot in the arms of the export plans of the brand since they are well received amongst domestic and international audiences at the same time.

The Chennai-based producer owned by Eicher Motors revealed both the 650 Twins in Milan at the 2017 EICMA show right before making Indian debut in Goa at the Rider Mania event. In the United States, the Interceptor 650 went on sales ahead of India, estimated from USD 5,799 while the RE Continental GT 650 is priced at USD 5,999.

The Royal Enfield 650 has become the most sold model amongst the two and in recent month, RE has continuously clocked over 1,000-unit sales. Introduced in 2018 in the month of November, the combined sales simply have got past five thousand units in five months and you’ll be amazed to know that it is a never-before-perceived volume tally for a higher capacity motorbike series in the recent time.

In case social media post of a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 holder from the United States to be believed, now Royal Enfield has modernized the Interceptor 650 for that market along with some notable changes. One of the most remarkable updates of them is that the Interceptor 650 is now named INT 650 as an alternative since Honda owns the Interceptor symbol in the United States. In addition, the side turn indicators are completely round in shape and the headlamp receives round-lens treatment.

Though no mechanical modifications have been done since the INT 650 is being powered by the 648cc parallel twin-cylinder air/oil-cooled fuel-injected SOHC generating 52 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm and 47 horsepower at 7,250 rpm. The RE INT 650 takes the inspiration of retro design from the 1960s’ iconic Interceptor. Based on the steel tubular frame, double cradle, the INT 650 employs twin coil over shocks and 41 mm telescopic front forks.
