Right to Information (RTI Guru)

by RTI GURU Right To Information Act - RTI GURU
RTI stands for "Right to Information." It is a legal right of every citizen in India to seek information from public authorities. The Right to Information Act was passed by the Indian Parliament in 2005, and it came into force on October 12, 2005. The Act aims to promote transparency and accountability in the functioning of the government by empowering citizens to access information held by public authorities.

Under the RTI Act, any citizen of India can request information from a public authority by submitting a written request along with the prescribed fee. The public authority is required to respond to the request within 30 days, either by providing the information or by giving reasons for not providing the information.

The RTI Act has been a powerful tool in exposing corruption and bringing transparency in the functioning of government institutions. It has also empowered citizens to hold public authorities accountable for their actions.
