Requirements for admissions in CBSE affiliated school

No matter where one is from, almost everyone one of us is familiar with the Central Board of Secondary Education also popularly known as CBSE. The Board is well known for its robust, holistic and healthy education across the country. When talking about CBSE School admission, it is something that you should not worry about much. If you are currently looking for a CBSE school for admission of your child, below are the requirements for admission in CBSE school.

Admission Requirement up to Class VIII

If you are looking for admission for your child up to Class VIII (i.e. class 8 and below) in a CBSE affiliated school is entirely based on the rules, regulations, orders of the state/U.T. and the government that is in a place where your preferred school is located. All of the aforementioned requirements might vary state to state, so to be sure, don’t forget to check the information according to the state and one extra step here you can take is check the school’s website as well.

Admission Requirement up to Class IX

We all know this is a very crucial part of a students’ life and when you are looking into the admission process of any CBSE school, be a little careful. They are open only to students who cleared class VIII examination from another institute that is affiliated to CBSE or any other recognised board or recognised by the Education department of the government of the state/U.T in which such an institution is located.

 

 

Admission Requirement up to Class X

Now, class X is very crucial, as, after that, you will get to decide what stream you want to pursue. Few things CBSE schools take into consideration are-

A) First and foremost, the students must have completed a regular course of study for class IX from a CBSE affiliated school.

B) If your child has completed a regular course of study for the class IX and successfully attained minimum qualifying marks, i.e. 33% from another institute affiliated to any recognised Board recognised by the Education Department of the Government of the State/U. T. in which the school is located.

Admission Requirement up to Class XI

Few things CBSE schools take into consideration when you are looking for admission in class XI are-

A) Make sure that your child has obtained a minimum 33% marks at the Secondary School (Class X) examination that is conducted by CBSE;

B) Make sure that your child has passed an equivalent examination conducted by any other recognised Board of Secondary Education/Indian University and recognised by CBSE as equivalent to its secondary school examination.

Admission Requirement up to Class XII

Few things CBSE schools take into consideration when you are looking for admission in class XII are-

A) If your child has completed a regular course of study in class XI and successfully cleared all subjects from a CBSE affiliated institution;

B) If your child has completed a regular course for class XI and passed with flying colours from a school that is affiliated to any recognised Board in India is eligible for school affiliated to this Board. The way it is only possible if you are planning to move to another place, make sure you have a mark sheet and the Transfer Certificate duly countersigned by the Educational Authorities of the Board concerned.

In the end, please keep in mind that CBSE has the powers to allow change of school for reasons such as performance, medical reasons etc. If you are changing schools, for this reason, the schools would obtain post facto approval of the Board within one month of admission of the student.
