Release of Shiny Zeraora Leads to Pokemon Home Down Issue

by Mia Watson Mia Watson

A while ago, Game Freaks added a set of Max Raid Battles to catch Shiny Zeraora in which more than 1 million gamers have to participate in claiming the Pokemon as a reward. Thus, the popularity of Pokemon Sword and Shield alongside gamers’ urge led to more than 2 million players participating. However, when the time arrived to claim the rewarded Pokemon through Pokemon Home, the popular storage app went down.

In contrast, gamers again in horde went to Twitter to complain. The horde of complainants also has big names such as Joe Merrick, who have created Serebii. Additionally, through his official twitter account, Joe Merrick stated that the servers of Pokemon Home had been crashed. Alongside, gamers are posting their screenshot that clearly shows the visiting error in Pokemon Home. While some of the popular Twitter accounts for Pokemon fans including the popular Poketips came out with a sarcastic tweet and a screenshot depicting the error; in the following tweet, they stated congrats, boys, and we have finally crashed the Pokemon Home in an attempt to get the Shiny kitty.

Although, the support tech of Nintendo or the developers of Sword and Shield, both decide to remain silent. However, Nintendo’s service page on its official website came with a statement that says the maintenance for Pokemon Home is going on, and we requested our fans and gamers remain calm. In addition to this, they also added that they feel apologetic for the crashing of the server.

In reference to this context, several rumors have spread over social media, including the one that says a bug has caused Pokemon Home issues. Whereas several gamers have posted their social media, the sudden visit of millions of gamers on Pokemon Home has crashed its servers. Although it is quite apparent that the servers have been down due to a lot of strain on their shoulders, however, the major question is whether Nintendo and Game Freaks are prepared for it or not.

However, the crashing of servers or websites is quite common and especially when the internet servers of the entire world are under huge strain due to the pandemic. Thus, gamers who have participated in the Max raid Battle for Shiny Zeraora have to wait until the situation gets back to normal. The issue of crashed servers will soon be fixed, as stated by Nintendo, through its official website. Thus, the gamers who are keen to add Shiny Zeraora will soon get the reward in their lineup. Till then, let us all wait until the issues get fixed.
