by Bappaditta Jana share market adviser
What makes India unique is its diverse culture, variety of food and a plenty of tourist destinations. Here the tourists get to witness the dazzling beauty of majestic mountains and valleys in the north and roaring sea waves of seas and oceans in the south. However, nothing beats the beauty of north-east. The region is well-known for its magical beauty- mighty Himalayas and Kanchenjunga, the dense forests of Kaziranga with many rare animals, Dauki clear-water Lake, and much more. One can get many hotels and resorts in Darjeeling and other north-eastern areas without burning a big hole in the pockets.

A quick trip to Darjeeling and Mirik

Darjeeling and Mirik are quite popular as tourist destinations and not many people have ventured around to unveil the scenic beauty of the exotic places around. Darjeeling and Mirik are popular for the tea estates on the hills and around those tea estates, there are a few tea bungalows for the tourists to stay. These tea bungalows are indeed much better places to stay than many hotels and resorts in Darjeeling that are located in populated hilly areas there. A few minutes’ drive away from Darjeeling is Mirik, and these lies a beautiful tea estate of Chamong and the resort bungalow named ‘Chamong Chiabari’. Tourists love this place as it is strategically positioned near the meeting point of four ranges, and watching sunset/sunrise from here is a delightful experience. One must not miss a delightful ride in a toy train while staying in or around Darjeeling. Needless to mention, there are many hotels but tea bungalows are considered as one of the best places to stay in Darjeeling.

Sightseeing in Assam and around

Many people feel that Assam is known for its exotic tea gardens, but it is much more than that. Guahati, the capital city of Assam, is one of the most well-connected cities of north-east with rest of India and tourists planning for an extensive trip to north-east start their journey from here. Tourists can enjoy the beautiful tea gardens, Kaziranga national park, rubber plantations, heritage sites and much more. The icing on the cake is that the tourists can enjoy local food and buy authentic handcrafted items like Assamese silk, home décor items made with bamboo, and so on. A visit to Majuli, the biggest river island of India, can be quite interesting. One cannot miss visiting Kaziranga National park, a habitat to rare species of animals.

Sikkim and Gangtok trip

A 4-5 hour drive from the queen of hills, tourists can reach the picturesque tourist destination called Sikkim. Many people combine Sikkim in north-east trip as it is not far off. Sikkim is a small and spectacular hill station located in the lap of Himalayas and attracts people from around the globe. Tourists can enjoy the elegance of Tsomo Lake, valley of flowers and seven sister waterfalls. Lachung and Yumthang are some of the very popular tourist spots here.

Unveiling the beauty of Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur

Arunachal Pradesh is one of the most unexplored yet exotic destinations of the north-east. The ‘Land of Dawn-Lit Mountains’ is located in the extreme north-east of India and is separated by McMahon Line from China and shares its borders with Myanmar and Bhutan. The destination is known for its diverse natural beauty and heritage sites. Tourists enjoy Bomdila’s spectacular bamboo bridges on the Brahmaputra River, and heritage sites like Tawang Buddhist monastery and Parshuram Kund in Lohit. Golden Pagoda at Namsai is one of the most artistic Pagodas in the world and is an attraction for tourists across the globe. At Sikkim, tourists can enjoy doing fun activities like river rafting, trekking, angling and trekking. Nagaland too, is one of the spectacular seven sisters of north-east and is famous for Loktak Lake, the largest fresh water lake and along with is Keibul Lamjao National Park, the natural refuge of many endangered flora and fauna.
