Leave it to the Restumping Specialists

by Mohit Jain Professional SEO Expert
Many older homes are experiencing damage to its structure and foundation as you read this. Over time, homes that are at least 20+ years of age or older may be experiencing  sunk in stumps, cracked foundations and bowed beams and floors. This could eventually lead to a more costly repair bill or even to the point where a support beam or floor will give way possibly causing serious injury or even death. If a thorough house restumping inspection before your home goes through a major construction repair job, this will let you know exactly where you stand before the house lifting and restumping begins.
Searching through the Internet to find the best house raising specialists around is a sure way to get what you want. But don’t simply pick the first company you come across that offers restumping services. Shop around; read reviews, and then make your final decision.
The first step a restumping company will do before they start with the house lifting process, is disconnect any fixtures and attachments that are secured to the home. This includes (but not limited to) the electricity, the plumbing, the central air system and any decking (if applicable). These must be disconnected before any construction begins. It is recommended to have a union electrician and plumber to handle these minor but serious projects.

A professional company that will let the home owner hang around the job site is the type of contractor you want to work for you. This will ensure the home owner that the job will be done correctly and professionally. If a contractor wishes that they weren’t supervised by other than those on their crew, you might want to ask a lot of questions.
Cutting corners and using cheap materials is not an option when house raising and restumping is involved. You get what you pay for, so if a contractor is must cheaper than all the rest this might reflect his work. A good professional house raising specialist will not only let the home owner on his work site, but will show and explain the materials that will be used and the tools that will be using to install them.

IMPORTANT
It has been recently discovered that protecting steel beams that are embedded in the ground may need more protection from corrosion than first thought. It was first accepted that the portion that is placed in the Earth needs only to be covered in a tar like substance to protect from being corroded…this is not the case anymore.
A heavy coating of enamel is recommended before coating the steel post with a generous amount of tar. Using just the one or the other is not enough.
