Proposals for the True Feminist

by Ekta Singh Content writer
Just about every woman seems to adopt a highly aggressive feminist agenda these days. Yes, we all want to break out of the unfortunate traditions of arranged marriages; yes, we want to do away with dowry; yes, we want to pursue our education and work towards a respectable and dignified career; yes, we want to do away with norms of women being the weaker sex… Yes, we want to marry for love.

But ladies, riddle me this: for all the supposedly feminist blood coursing through your veins, what’s your idea of an ideal proposal, if you do indeed plan to marry someone you’ve been in a relationship with –someone you love? I’m sure many of us women would be waiting impatiently for the men in our lives to pop the questions. Well… Where’s the feminism in that? Are romance and chivalry and wooing a man’s job, while the ladies play hard to get? Isn’t that being feminist as and when we please, and being sexist and stereotypical when we want to be spoiled and treated like little princesses?

Is it set in stone that a man has to propose to a woman? I think not! So ladies, be true to feminism and take matters into your own hands! As I’m sure you all know, there’s absolutely no dearth of jewellers in delhi. So what are you waiting for? If you think you’ve found ‘Mr. Right’ then the next step is finding the perfect engagement ring for the perfect man! And no, who says engagement rings are made only for women?

As much as it seems like all the jewellery stores are loaded up with all sorts of jewellery for women, they do actually have a section for men as well. So you’re going to have absolutely no problem in finding diamond rings for men. Because let’s face it –if women get a dazzling Princess cut rock of a diamond, then why can’t a man rock a diamond as well, eh?

So what you need to do is pretty straightforward. March right in to all the jewellers in delhi. Window shop. Make the rounds. Compare all the diamond rings for men. And finally, pick the one you think is best suited. Swipe that credit card right up! Then just need to plan out how you’re going to execute the proposal, and get down to business –or one knee rather!
