Printer is not just a printing device, it’s a companion

A printer is basically an external hardware device which takes computer data and generates a hard copy of the data. The data can be text, images, and photos. There are many types of printers which are used by the users as according to their need.

The different types of computer printers available today are All-in-one (AIO) printer, Dot Matrix printer, Inkjet printer, Laser printer, Multifunction printer (MFP), Thermal printer, LED printer, 3D printer. Inkjet and Laser printers are the most common printers used with a computer. Both of them are easily available in a low budget range, maintenance cost is also less.

There are many printer manufacturing companies in the world. Among them, the most popular one are Canon, HP, EPSON. Canon printers are supplied with Canon Advanced Printing Technology (CAPT), a printer driver software-stack developed by Canon. The company claims that its use of data compression reduces their printer's memory requirement, compared to conventional laser printers, and also claim that it increases the data transfer rate when printing high-resolution graphics.

Hewlett Packard is also one of the competitors to Canon. HP offers great value of money; most of the printer models are priced low but delivers a great service life and target domestic and industrial purpose. The top most feature of HP include: Up to 30 ppm in black & white, 20 ppm for color printing, low cartridge cost, easy installation.

These features depend basically on the use of your printer. For loads of printing, laser printer is recommended due to longevity of its cartridge printing life on the other hand, for home and low volume printing needs; inkjet printer will fulfill the chore. Inkjet printer can print up to 500 pages (depending on the model) and then it needs replacement/ refilling. Laser printer can print 3000 pages with each refill.

Since its invention, printer has become an essential part of computer.
