Playoff Race: Utah Jazz

by Kim Morrie Professional Sports Bettor

Only a little more than a month from now and the most exciting part of the NBA season will be taking place as the best teams in the league will slug it out in the playoffs. It’s the best time of the year for bookmakers online betting as the sports fans get to watch the highest level of competition in the world of basketball and place a sports bet on those exciting games between the best teams. The list of best teams, however, is not yet set in stone as teams are still fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Well, the eastern conference is pretty much a done deal with a huge difference between the eighth and ninth place. The western conference however is still showing to be a really wild place as five teams are still scrapping for the last three playoff spots. The playoff future for the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trailblazers and Utah Jazz is still murky and a few wins or losing streaks for the teams can completely change the fate of for each. In a funny way, the fates of these teams are intertwined with each other.

The Utah Jazz has been a team that seems to be always under the radar for the entire duration of the season. They aren’t making any loud noise, but the team as managed to be in a playoff spot. As of March 5, they are currently sitting at the eighth spot and half a game behind the Houston Rocket with a record of 32 wins and 28 losses.

Here’s the schedule for the remainder of the season for the Jazz team.

  • March 6 – Cavaliers on road
  • March 8 – Bulls on road
  • March 9 – Knicks on road
  • March 11 – Pistons at home
  • March 13 – Thunder on road
  • March 16 – Grizzlies at home
  • March 18 – Knicks at home
  • March 20 – Rockets on road
  • March 22 – Spurs on road
  • March 24 – Mavericks on road
  • March 25 – 76ers at home
  • March 27 – Suns at home
  • March 29 – Trailblazers on road
  • March 30 – Nets at home
  • April 1 – Trailblazers at home
  • April 3 – Nuggets at home
  • April 5 – Hornets at home
  • April 7 – Warriors on road
  • April 9 – Thunder at home
  • April 12 – Wolves at home
  • April 15 – Wolves on road
  • April 17 – Grizzles on road

Out of the remaining 22 games, half are played at home and other half on the road. There are three back-to-back games with second games against the Knicks, 76ers and Nets. There are 12 games against teams with records on .500 and above. These 12 teams all have better record than the Jazz team.

A simple way of putting it is that the remaining schedule for the Jazz is quite challenging. As of late, the Jazz have been slipping and a 12-10 record along the way is the best that the team and fans can hope for with 8-14 a possibility.

That means the team can finish the season with a record between 40-42 and 44-38. A record below .500 will probably mean that they are out of the playoffs, but 44 wins will give them a good chance of making the playoffs. However, it ultimately depends on how other teams perform for the rest of the season.

Anyway, a look at the predictions for the other teams by one of the top bookmakers online can give you a better feel on what’s going to happen.
