Playoff Race: Utah Jazz

Only a little more than a month from now and the most exciting part of the NBA season will be taking place as the best teams in the league will slug it out in the playoffs. As of March 5, they are currently sitting at the eighth spot and half a game behind the Houston Rocket with a record of 32 wins and 28 losses.

Out of the remaining 22 games, half are played at home and other half on the road. There are three back-to-back games with second games against the Knicks, 76ers and Nets. There are 12 games against teams with records on .500 and above. These 12 teams all have better record than the Jazz team.

A simple way of putting it is that the remaining schedule for the Jazz is quite challenging. As of late, the Jazz have been slipping and a 12-10 record along the way is the best that the team and fans can hope for with 8-14 a possibility.

That means the team can finish the season with a record between 40-42 and 44-38. A record below .500 will probably mean that they are out of the playoffs, but 44 wins will give them a good chance of making the playoffs. However, it ultimately depends on how other teams perform for the rest of the season.
