Planning The Perfect Weekend Trip To London

by Natalie W. Freelance Writer and Researcher

When planning a trip for a weekend trip for a city break, you need to be well prepared. Prepare your bag for the weekend stay as well as the things you will be doing when you arrive. Here is a short guide to planning the perfect weekend trip to London.

Make A List

Like every holiday, you will need to make a list of things to do before you go away. When going abroad, you write down all of the essentials you need such as travel-sized shampoos, extra clothes and swimming costumes/ shorts. For a weekend trip away to London, the list will be slightly different.

Make a list of all of the clothes that you will need over the weekend. Are you planning on going for a nice meal or just shopping for the weekend? Another thing to add to the list is the essentials you need for your hotel room such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, as well as any other beauty products you may need. Furthermore, with the hotels in London, nine times out of ten, the hotel will provide you with the essential shampoos you need. Nonetheless, we suggest you take an extra bottle just in case.

The next thing you need to add is the things you are planning on doing when you are there. Maybe one day you want to sightsee for the full day. Maybe another day you want to try a famous restaurant or go drinking during the day. Establishing what you will be doing will help you decide on the clothes you need to wear as well.

Browse Your Locations On Google Maps

When you have spent hours travelling to London, you want to reduce the travel time to different places when you are there. Ensure that everything you are looking to see throughout the weekend is close to one another. Furthermore, London is a big place so you will need to plan your travel routes as well. The most common way of travelling around this fantastic city is the London underground. Another way of travel is the bus or an Uber. It all depends on your preferred travelling methods.

Book Your Hotel

Once you have planned your days out in London, you need to decide on where you will be stopping. Ideally, you want to find a hotel that is located in the middle of all the places you plan to visit. For example, if you plan to stay in London for the weekend. Park your car at Marble Arch car park and find a hotel that is nearby to save you from carrying your bags all around the city.

Get Used To The Tube

Finally, if you are travelling to London, the most efficient form of travel is the tube so get used to the map. Find all of the areas located near the different tube stations to save time for when you are there. Once you are there, all you need to do is check your notes to see where you need to go or where the local tube station is.
