Places To Visit During A Road Trip From Perth To Albany

If you have planned to travel to Albany, then driving on your own, taking a flight and using public transports are the three transit options that you can choose from. Generally, driving is the most popular way to explore the place properly. It takes about 4 to 5 hours to reach Albany from Perth by driving. 

While travelling through this route, you will find long loaded road trucks along several overtaking lanes. There are numerous road houses present across the highway that serve fresh sausage rolls, pies, hot chips and so on. Don't miss the chance to enjoy those tasty road side foods! There are also some cute little towns along the way that can be visited and explored. So take a break in between the long journey and get ready to explore the towns at their best. Stated below are the towns that you will find on your way to Albany. Have a look at them: 

1. Williams:
You can reach this place within 2 hours from Perth. The Williams Woolshed, a fantastic eatery at this place, serves fresh food and hot beverages. You can also opt for local wine, jam, pickles and preserves. This place is open from 8 am to 4 pm. 

2. Kojonup:
The is a cute little town having supermarkets, cafeterias, bakery shops, front cottages and a gigantic wagon. Bed and breakfast lodges are also available for long stay accommodation. If you want to explore the place properly then it is advisable to stay there at least for a couple of days or more. You can also visit the wineries situated at Kojonup. On the other hand, Kojonup country kitchen is also worth a stop on Albany Highway. You can take a break and enjoy the lunch or coffee offered there. 

You will encounter some ANZAC nostalgia here as well. Brigadier Arnold Potts once lived in Kojonup. He commanded all the other brigades to impede the Japanese advance while fighting on the Kokoda Trail during Second World War.

3. Mount Barker:
This is the last stoppage on the way from Perth to Albany. This little town has a petrol station, supermarket, restaurants and cafeterias. Just get out from your car and you’ll be able to relax at one of the charming eateries here.
