Places and Neighborhoods from Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) to Downtown.

Heading South from the airport into downtown, you will pass the beautiful Marina, where the cruise ship Terminal is. This area is surrounded by high-end condos, good restaurants, malls and tour operators.

Continuing going south and by the same avenue (Francisco Medina Ascencio), you will then pass by the Hotel Zone (Zona Hotelera Norte), which is a strip of all-inclusive hotels along the northern beaches of PV. This area also has a few shopping malls and a Food Park.

Right after, you will get to “5 de Diciembre”. This neighborhood is a solid blend of locals and US and Canadian residents, extending from the beach up the hillsides. It will be your first encounter with PV’s red-tiled roofs, cobblestone streets, and beautiful purple jacaranda trees.
