Non-Stick Magic: The Ultimate Tawa for Effortless Cooking

by Mumma Life Manufacturer

A non-stick tawa, also known as a non-stick griddle or pan, is a type of cooking utensil designed to prevent food from sticking to its surface during the cooking process. It is commonly used to prepare various types of flatbreads, such as roti, chapati, paratha, and dosa, among others.

The primary feature of a non-stick tawa is its non-stick coating, which is typically made of materials like polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), commonly known as Teflon. This coating provides a smooth surface that reduces the need for excessive oil or butter while cooking and makes it easier to flip and remove food without it sticking to the surface.

Non-stick tawas come in various sizes and designs, and they are typically used on gas stoves or electric cooktops. It is essential to use wooden or silicone utensils while cooking on a non-stick kadhai to avoid scratching the non-stick coating, which could reduce its effectiveness.

To maintain the non-stick properties and prolong the lifespan of a non-stick tawa, it is advisable to follow these tips:

Avoid using metal utensils: As mentioned earlier, metal utensils can scratch the non-stick coating. Opt for wooden or silicone tools instead.

Handwash only: Avoid putting the tawa in the dishwasher, as harsh detergents and high heat can damage the non-stick coating. Instead, gently wash it with a soft sponge and mild dish soap.

Use moderate heat: Cooking at very high temperatures can damage the non-stick coating over time. Use medium to low heat settings for best results.

Avoid cooking sprays: Cooking sprays can create a sticky residue on the tawa's surface, affecting its non-stick properties. It's best to use a small amount of oil or butter if needed.

Store properly: When storing the non-stick tawa, avoid stacking it with other cookware or placing heavy objects on top of it, as this could cause scratches on the surface.

Remember that even with proper care, the non-stick coating on cookware will naturally wear off over time. If you notice significant damage or the coating starts to peel, it's time to replace the non-stick tawa for safe and healthy cooking.
