No Internet During Flight: What to Do Now?

by Mediacom Cable Internet Service Providers & Telecommunications

Going on a vacation is a fun thing to do. Things get a little difficult when you have hours and hours of waiting at the airport all by yourself. Things get even worse when you have to stay alone buckled up on your seat in the plane for more than 12 hrs. Man, do I find this boring! Imagine yourself glued to your seat doing nothing at all. What if your in-flight entertainment shuts down at the same time? You will be depending on other options that can keep your boredom to a minimum. So, here we have a couple of things that can help you kill boredom while on a flight:

Keep a Record of Your In-flight Experiences by Writing in your Journal

When you are on a long journey, you might get a chance to watch the sunset or sunrise and many other exotic things. You can start writing them without any hesitation when you feel bored while the other passengers are asleep. That would be the best time to get the creative writer out of you and write things like a movie script, a blog, a story – anything on paper or a handheld device you could be carrying with you.

You Can Learn a Language

This is something fun to do. You can download an app like Babbel that will help you learn a language. A good approach is doing this while you are at the airport where you can have internet access. This is not only going to help you kill time, but will also help you get in touch with people of different cultures and countries. Take your time and learn some new words, greetings, and other phrases that the locals use. This is going to be very useful when you are traveling around in your destination country.

Pre-Loading Your Content Is a Recommendation

If you have a Wi-Fi connection at the airport, it is good because you won’t have it once you board your plane. Make sure that you have enough movies, shows, and musical content at home or at the airport. To get this done, load up your e-books and audiobooks and a little bit of music that you can listen on your phone. If you can connect to a high-speed internet connection like internet services offered by Spectrumoffers, make it to good use and avoid boredom.

Flights Are Good If You Want To Talk And Socialise With People

While you are traveling, you can always find somebody who you can talk to, share your stories, experience and things about people back home. Such interesting people can make your journey something memorable. I always love to talk to people and get insights about the place I am visiting by talking to somebody who is going to the same country as I am. Many of my overseas friends who I still get in touch with on social platforms share some valuable information that helps me a lot during traveling. Apart from that you don’t feel alone on a flight or bored if you have somebody to talk to.

Stretch Your Legs and Body by Practicing Yoga Movements

People tend to feel quite lethargic, tired, squeezed in, and lazy when they are on a long-distance flight. The seats inside a plane are not always comfortable for many passengers too. So to maintain the right posture, there are different movements in Yoga that you can practice. A little movement and motion to your back, legs, shoulders, and arms prevent tension that builds up in your body, especially in the muscles. So it is a healthy practice to have a look at a few articles that can guide you on different postures and on-flight yoga movements.

Download and Listen To a Podcast

If you are traveling alone for an educational purpose or to attend a conference, a podcast can be something that you can listen to during the flight. This can be something related to your field of study, your profession, your work or anything else. Traveling alone might contribute towards getting into deep thought and learning new things. I would suggest that you download different podcasts about meditation, cultures, traveling best practices and other aspects of your life and journey.

No WiFi, no sweat! You can still do a lot to kill time and boredom. You can do any of the above activities to make your flight a fun experience. I would suggest that you go for playing any of the available offline games using your phones, tablet or other handheld devices. You can also listen to some music or watch a movie to enjoy your flight. At the same time, try to put all your devices on Airplane Mode during the flight to avoid any kind of disruption in the aircraft.
