Woww! A lot of excellent features for a binoculars. Let's look deeper at each feature to find to differences to other Nikon Binoculars.
Optic
Nikon's field flattener lens system is the first difference. Just few binoculars of Nikon is integrated this element and EDGs are ones of them. This element provides excellent images with the sharp, clear from edge-to-edge (same sharpness at any point on the lens). Extra-low dispersion (ED) glass, which Nikon's high-quality glass for brighter images than normal glass.
Dielectric high-reflective multilayer-coated prism, a popular part of Nikon Binoculars, is located inside each to give you optimal brightness, even in low lighter performance: dawn, dusk and even night. All lenses and prisms are made for Eco-glass optics, environmentally safe materials for safety of users in case they're accidentally broken.
42mm objective lens is pretty large size, which can provide brighter images and much wider FOV. This's thing I love at Nikon EDG binoculars. Excellently optical system allows them provides extremely wide FOV, help users easier to view, find and follow very fast and small objects.
Construction
They have a very tough and solid body but also very compact and light, at least compared to other binoculars with same features and price. Beside, 100% waterproof and fogproof design (thanks to O-ring seals and Nitrogen gas) help protected the binoculars in worst conditions.
Dual focus knob with diopter adjustment makes it easier and faster to focus on something at any distance. Very long eye relief with High-eyepoint design for easier view with eyeglass, and Turn-and-slide rubber eyecups (the eyecups that can be adjustable) to be suitable for all users with or without eyeglass.
Conclusion
All Nikon EDG Binoculars are quite a lot of money but with a lot of excellent features (as you can see), they're totally not expensive and worth for every penny you pay. Let's take a EDG one and enjoy night sky, animals and the beautiful natures
