Netgear simple troubleshooting's if not working.

by Bessie R. Writer
This article provides troubleshooting steps for connection problems with your NETGEAR router. Your Netgear router blinks orange if there is no internet connection on it.

Use the following instructions if you were connected to the Internet but not working.
  • No access to websites.
  • No activity on the Internet LED of your router.
  • No Internet access on connected devices.

To troubleshoot connection problems:

Note: Each of the following steps is a separate attempt to fix the problem. If one step works, you don’t need to proceed with the other steps.
Check the connections of your devices. Make sure that each cable connection is secure.
Refresh your cable connection by power cycling your network. For more information, see How do I power cycle my home network?.
Download the latest firmware for your router at https://www.netgear.com/support/.
Reset your router. For more information, see How do I perform a factory reset on my NETGEAR router?.

To troubleshoot wireless network problems:

For new routers that have yet to be connected to the internet. Refer to the installation guide and user manual that was supplied with the router. The manuals can also be found on the NETGEAR Support website.

To search for your specific product, see NETGEAR Support.

If the router has been connected to the internet and worked in the past. Confirming the signal from your internet service provider (ISP) is not the problem.

Turn off the wireless function and directly connect your computer to the router.
Reboot the computer and check for an internet connection.
If there is still no internet connection reboot the router and any modems in use.
You can also repeat this scenario with your computer. Directly connected to the modem instead of the router.
Still not getting an internet connection, contact your internet service provider.

If you are able to access the internet with a wired connection but not wirelessly, your wireless network may not be emitting a signal. To enable the wireless router signal login to Netgear orbi router.
