by Edword Bella Freelance Author
Listed are some of the most effective home remedies for cleaning carpet in a natural, non-toxic manner. These remedies are non- allergenic and safe with minimum use of harmful chemicals involved.

When it comes to carpet cleaning, there are a number of home remedies that can be used in order to go about the process in a natural, non-toxic manner. As a Texas resident there are a number of cleaning companies offering carpet cleaning in Spring or carpet cleaning in Richmond or carpet cleaning in the Woodlands but before you pick up the phone and give one of them a call try your hand at these solutions and see if you can get the stains out as a DIY option:

Eco-friendly carpet cleaners do not release any dangerous chemicals into your home and are the best bet when it comes to cleaning. It is also worthy to note that while these DIY options are effective, there are a number of companies going for natural and non-toxic methods of cleaning nowadays, so if these home remedies do not work, there is always an option to get one of them to do the job for you.

A home made liquid cleaner can be made with one part distilled water and one part white vinegar. This works well for deodorizing, disinfecting and removing light stains. Just spray the stained area with the solution and let it sit for several minutes before washing it off with water.

Another option is to make a light and natural carpet shampoo by mixing a cup of warm with one teaspoon of vegetable oil based soap. This solution can be sprayed on the stain and then scrubbed lightly using a brush. Finally, use water to clean off thoroughly.

For stains that are a little older and tougher- an effective cleaner can be made by mixing baking soda, water and plant based soap. Using similar directions as above, spray, scrub and clean off with cold water.

Club Soda can be used for wine- stains. This is also a great option for water-soluble stains. Either spray or blot the stain and clean up with water.

Another very useful option is ammonia. Like the ones above, just mix one/ fourth ammonia with water and spray on the solution. Ammonia is not the best when it comes to natural remedies but can be used as an alternative.

While all these options are good for spot cleaning or lightweight cleaning, if one is looking to clean the entire carpet area in the house, it might be worthwhile to use a cleaning company that offers eco-friendly cleaning. One can look for a company providing carpet cleaning in Spring, carpet cleaning in Richmond and carpet cleaning in the woodlands amongst other areas in Texas, that employs environmentally approved methods and clean without the use of harmful chemicals.

In addition to the environment, using a cleaner that is free of chemicals is extremely beneficial when it comes to the health and well being of the family.
