My Earth and its condition

"Global warming" refers to rising global temperatures, while “climate change” includes other more specific kinds of changes like warmer global temperatures in the atmosphere and oceans leads to climate changes affecting rainfall patterns, storms and droughts, growing seasons, humidity, and sea level.

Factors that can shape climate are called climate forcings or "forcing mechanisms". These include such processes as variations in solar radiation, deviations in the Earth's orbit, mountain-building and continental drift, and changes in greenhouse gas concentrations.

Effects of Climate Change around the World

Climate change is really a big issue. What I am trying to say is, example the Philippines is now experiencing major effects of this natural climate change. Rainy season comes early, almost in an unexpected situation. Landslide are being reported from provinces. Flash floods is also a major problem.

El Niño and La Niña is almost a normal thing now in the Philippines. Although the local government as well as other organizations are doing their best to bring back the good old days (which is almost impossible), still, it wasn't good enough.

Global climate change has already had observable effects on the environment. Glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes is breaking up earlier, plant and animal ranges have shifted and trees are flowering sooner. Effects that scientists had predicted in the past would result from global climate change are now occuring: loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves.

Global Climate Change: Recent Impacts

·         Cold days, cold nights and frost less frequent over land areas

·         More frequent hot days and nights

·         Heat waves more frequent over most land areas

·         Increased incidence of extreme high sea leve

·         Global area affected by drought has increased (since 1970s)

·         Increase in intense tropical cyclone activity in North Atlantic (since 1970)

Global Climate Change: Future Trends

·         Contraction of snow cover areas, increased thaw in permafrost regions, decrease in sea ice extent

·         Increased frequency of hot extremes, heat waves and heavy precipitation

·         Increase in tropical cyclone intensity

·         Spread of Diseases
