Melbourne Construction Projects set to Change the Future-scape of Melbourne

by Brian Wallace Affiliate Marketing
Look around the Melbourne area far and wide and one would observe numerous
projects underway and many more in the pipeline that will permanently change thenface of Melbourne forever.

The expansion of the Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) through
investments from International Container Terminal Services, Inc. and government
funded projects such as the Metro Tunnel, the Queen Victoria Market Precinct
project, the redevelopment of the Southbank, the Metrorail, Footscray Road Veloway, brand new skyscrapers and so many other projects are all expected to transform how people live in Melbourne.

The impact of this project from a positive economic perspective is already being felt by the Melbourne population and once these projects are completed the amount of foreign investments that these projects will eventually attract is going to be more than just abundant.

Among the more notable project that is deemed as one of the largest is the $11 billion Metro Tunnel which is evidently the biggest ever transport related project within Victoria and is expected to be open to the public as early as 2026. The project which involved a little frustration for the public due to the closing of specific areas of the City Square and also areas of northern CBD will eventually remove the City Loop bottleneck allowing more trains to go through.

Additionally, the Metro Tunnel features five new stations increasing connectivity between various parts of the city. Another ‘biggie project’ is the expansion of the VICT that will see two new quay cranes added to the Melbourne port along with six new auxiliary ASCs. Another project worth AUD250 million will see the redevelopment of Queen Victoria Market precinct that will result in the more than a century old Melbourne landmark being redefined which in fact takes after the success of a previous project referred to as the Southbank redevelopment project worth AUD$35 million.

These projects along with others such as the Footscray Road veloway project, the
Melbourne Metro Rail project, The Collins Street Precinct project and the new
skyscrapers being built in Melbourne is welcome news not just to the populace of Melbourne, but exciting news for the entire construction faction of Melbourne.

The entire construction sector of Melbourne is gearing up to take on these projects head on as construction material suppliers placed lead orders for supplies and construction equipment providers that offer construction machinery such as excavators, trucks and dumpers for hire prepped their fleets. According to Steve Portman, the increase in demand for equipment such as excavators for hire is a positive sign for the industry and that most of the demand is stemming from these new big projects.

According to Portman, these projects are not just about the rental of excavators and construction equipment in melbournebut it also about employment for the men and women of Melbourne affiliated to the construction industry that had suffered greatly during the pandemic. It is welcome news and given the fact that these projects are to go on for years, the entire construction industry will benefit greatly from these projects added Portman.
