McAfee issued reports on the rising cyber attacks in Australia

With recent reports taken out by the cyber security experts from Russia, Iran, and North Korea about the State-sponsored cyber attacks hitting Australia have grown. The news is breaking the headlines, however, the source is not certain of it are being done intentionally or just a poor execution of results.

According to a statement made by Fergus Hanson, head of the International Cyber Policy Centre at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, explains that there are the main countries including China, was the most obvious “threat actors” convoying cyber attacks all around the globe since past many years.

“Each one has its own specialties and particular goals, so if you take NotPetya, which is a family of encrypting ransomware (the malicious software that locks an Operating system until a ransom is paid) the Russians aimed that through a Ukrainian accounting organization and it was apparently meant to go after Ukrainian businesses,” Mr. Hanson said. “But because it was so badly executed it ended up covering from the accounting company, globally.”
