Lower Back Pain – Types and Prevention

Most of us will experience lower back pain at some point in life. In most cases, the lower back gets better on its own or by just following simple exercises suggested by your lower back pain specialist. But for some, it becomes a recurring condition which is very annoying and causes extreme easiness to the person. Back pain is not any diagnosis but a symptom. The underlying cause differs depending on the medical history and the lifestyle of the person. Every individual gets lower back pain of different intensity and also lasts for a different period. 

Lower back pain usually gets better few days or a few weeks at the most. Such cases are called acute lower back pain. Generally, it is difficult to identify the underlying cause of acute back pain. In most cases, the cause is sprain which means ligament or muscle related pain. Since it goes away in a few days, it is not something to worry about.

When lower back pain lasts for more than three months, it is determined as chronic lower back pain. The chronic back pain condition causes extreme uneasiness to the person suffering from it and the cause of it is difficult to identify. The person suffering from chronic lower back pain is compelled to take back pain treatment in Ahmedabad and consult a pain specialist to that they could continue to work, exercise, and live routine life. Also, the pain specialist will try to find the root cause considering your medical history to make sure that the pain is not life-threating or is not likely to make you wheelchair-bound. 

Preventing Lower Back Pain

Let’s get down to some of the lifestyle changes that one should consider if they are facing from lower back pain

  • Eat healthy and keep your body weight within a decently healthy range
  • Keep a check on your posture when you sit
  • Exercise regularly to ensure fitness and flexibility of your back muscles
  • Avoid sitting continuously for a longer time
  • Use proper techniques while lifting
  • Avoid situations where the spine is vibrated or put under extreme stress for a longer time
  • Avoid frequent twisting and bending
  • Get sufficient sleep
  • Say no to smoking
  • Visit a health clinic if you are having anxiety or depression
