UK universities follow a semester system and an academic year consists of 2 semesters. 

Depending on the intake student enrolls in the first semester will start in September/October and ends in December or will start in January and ends in May/June.

The second semester starts in January and ends in May/June or starts in August/September and ends in December. 

In England, Wales, and Northern Ireland usually bachelor’s degrees are for the duration of 3 years & 4 years (with placement option) and Four years in Scotland.
