Liver Transplant Consultants in India for Counseling and Surgery

by Crazzy Paul Digital Markting Professional
The sole aim of getting a consultant for medical aid is to get relief and proper guidance. A liver transplant consultant in India can reduce the complexity of the whole process to a large extent and ultimately helps in completion of liver transplant with full satisfaction. The process of liver transplant is highly complex and the patient and his attendant have to face a lot of medical, financial and legal problems.

Liver transplant evaluation:

As per the liver transplant surgeon many different issues are assessed before the final transplant such as blood test of the donor, X-rays, ultrasounds, a liver biopsy, heart and lung tests, colonoscopy, and dental exams. Women may also have a Pap test, gynecology exam, and a mammogram. Especially in countries like India where the awareness of such methodology is relatively unknown the consultant has a major role to play.

Liver transplant accessibility in India:

India is now known as the cheapest country providing health care particularly in the entire Southeast Asia region. India is now emerging as a hotspot for patients looking for cost effective medical treatments. Delhi is one of the few cities which have highly developed liver transplantation hospitals and some of them are also run by the government which provides free transplant. It is also fairly easy to find Liver Transplant Specialist in Delhi as they are great in numbers.

Surgical procedure as prescribed by liver transplant surgeon:

Healthy liver should perform over 400 tasks daily. A liver transplant surgeon often removes a new one from the donor through surgical cuts in the upper part of the right abdomen and the donor liver is kept in a cooled (saline-water) solution that helps to preserve the organ for 8 hours, all the necessary tests are then performed to match donors with the recipients. The donated liver is then placed and attached to the bile ducts and blood vessels with the operation taking about 12 hours and the recipients often require large amount of blood through transfusion.

This procedure of transplant is not recommended for people who have history of cancer or tuberculosis, furthermore people with risky lifestyle habits such as drug abuse, alcohol consumption and smoking may not undergo a transplant.

Things to remember after the transplant:

There is a possibility that the immune system of the receiver might reject the newly implanted organ, for that the doctor may prescribe anti-rejection drugs. Therefore it is of utmost importance to take all the prescribed medications regularly. Monitoring of blood pressure, weight, cholesterol and all the recommended health screening are necessary to ensure that the new implanted organ is accepted by the body.
