Natya shastra described four important techniques of Bharatnatyam. They are Karanas, Hastas, Adavus, Bhedas-eye and neck movements. Karana means doing. There are several Karanas in bharatnatyam. The movements of hip, legs and body including other part of body movements are Karana. The hand gestures are Hastas. And also it is very highlighting features of Bharatnatyam.
