Lacrosse Nets – A Lesson in Durability
by Dillon Patterson Article PublisherAll
the snow on the ground in the Northeast right now makes it hard to believe that
in a few weeks’ lacrosse practice will be starting up again. As the snow melts many coaches will hit the
equipment room only to find that they need some new gear. Lacrosse nets are always on the shopping
list.
There
are a lot of lacrosse nets on the market and it’s easy to sink a lot of money
into them as most people would agree that the larger the diameter of the
netting the more durable the net. I
would have to agree with this with one exception. A 3mm weather treated lacrosse net is going
to be more durable when left on the goal in all weather conditions. That’s why I’m recommending them for all of
you practice goals.
Yes,there
are those 2 mm lacrosse
nets out there that seem pretty economical
but if you have to replace them all the time how economical are they in
reality. Black weather treated nets cost
only a little more than your average 3mm lacrosse nets so they are certainly
affordable for most programs. The added
benefits are two-fold. First the weather
treatment on the netting makes them last even in wet weather conditions. This brings us to the second benefit which
many coaches would see as the more important of the two… you can leave them on
the goals. Because of this weather
treatment there’s no reason to remove the nets after every use. No more replacing the nets at the beginning
of a practice. Just hit the field.
It
may be a small point but weather treated lacrosse nets will save time and
money. So, this year when you make your
net purchases check them out first.
